Brief history of International Clinical Educators
She founded International Clinical Educators, and invited world-reknowned experts to teach workshops. In 1988, I.C.E. hosted the first Annual Interdisciplinary Bobath Symposium in the Treatment of Adult Hemiplegia with Drs. Berta and Karel Bobath as keynote speakers. The first of it's kind in the world, this symposium continued annually for 10 years, establishing Jan Davis and I.C.E. as leaders in the world of NDT treatment methods. Specialists worldwide presented NDT treatment methods, research and strategies for physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and nurses. Patricia Davies, author of the landmark books "Steps to Follow", "Right in the Middle" and "Starting Again" was a keynote speaker and frequent presenter including Advanced Level Courses in Adult Hemiplegia and Traumatic Brain Injury. Louise Rutz-LaPitz, senior Bobath Instructor and President of the International Bobath Instructor's Association (IBITAH) was a presenter at every Symposium. As one of the 'backbone' instructors of I.C.E., she has taught several 3-week NDT courses with Jan Davis in the United States and Switzerland and continues to share her skills and expertise as an instructor throughout the world. I.C.E. has consistently delivered high quality healthcare education, leading the way with innovative learning methods and multimedia clinical education programs. |
